Wow wonderful shot I havent seen taipers this

Thanks all for your comments.
Yes it's because she is a baby that she is
this colour. She will lose this colouration
and pattern when she is around 6 months old.
Its a shame because her colouring is so
gorgeous.

Awwww, so shy, I hope she gets used to humans
at some point! I envy you for being able to
get so close, at Taronga Zoo in Sydney they
are very far away from the visitors.

She is much friendlier now - I visited a few
weeks ago and she has grown a lot. She is
still soooo cute and she is now quite
friendly and very inquisitive.
Yes, it's great that you can get so close
at the CWP, I don't know of many other zoo's/
animal collections where you can get so
close.

These animals are so precious! I had no idea
what it was while I enjoyed a brief encounter
at the Brevard Zoo.

Thank you for choosing my photo as the 1st
entry in "The Tapir Blog". I look
forward to the progression of the blog - it
is excellent that so many other tapir fans
exist.

You are welcome :)
Aside from the fact that it's such a cool
picture, I've seen you all over the place
online when looking for tapir-related
information that it seemed appropriate.
