Night Of Dread-Toronto-Oct 27-2007 |
Night of Dread is an opportunity to
parade our private and collective fears
through the darkened streets of the
Bloor/Dufferin/College community. The
procession returns to Dufferin Grove
Park for an evening of ceremonial
festivities that compel us to call on,
mock and banish the fears that unite and
divide us in these times of terror. It
is an evening of pageantry, music and
masquerade incorporating towering
puppets, stilt dancers and fearsome
masks in a daring and demonic community
parade.
Night of Dread incorporates
international folk and theatrical
traditions timed to coincide with many
festivals of death and remembrance
around the world. The public is invited
to join Toronto musicians, puppeteers,
dancers and stilt walkers as together we
laugh at our fears, real and imagined,
private and public.
Where: Dufferin Grove Park is located
at Bloor and Dufferin, just south of
Bloor Street on the east side of
Dufferin, across from the Dufferin Mall
Parking Lot.
