day 483: really pretty much almost probably just about walking! by snowdeal.

if the strictest interpretation of the definition of a toddler requires regular and repeated actual toddling then i think we're officially ready to induct odin into the wonderful world of toddlerdom!

just like when he started crawling and standing unassisted he's been in a bit of a gray area for a few weeks and it's been difficult to know for certain whether it's fair to say he's really walking or if maybe we're just being overly optimistic observers.

but in the days since his developmental assessment he's been making great strides ( ha! pun intended! ) and we're increasingly confident that any independent critics will agree he's a toddling toddler and quite close to walking full-time!

obviously we're quite impressed that's he's managed such a feat within a week of his 1 year age adjusted birthday and a full 3 months before i myself ever got the gist of the bipedal behavior.

You'll spend the rest of you life tellin him to sit down and shut-up."" cue twilight zone music. in a freakish coincidence, grandpa snowdeal told me this very same anectode around the moment that i took this picture. i kid you not. i had never heard it before. i'm assuming he's not the "old man" who told it to you in the elevator :-) wierd. treebjen: "I'm with Sesame Ellis (even before seeing her comment) -- Odin, if anyone, is clearly a dancin' fool." ha! it's the ol' two-step-over-the-carpet-runner move that he's practicing. as candy points out in the notes, it luckily didn't result in the header-into-the-coffetable move. dairycow2: "dancing before walking is an impressive feat! congrats odin, all 23 ounces of you." re: the "23 ounces" patch and your note - we had a patch made for his birthday . he's definately doesn't weigh 23 ounces anymore. in fact, he barely fits into his birthday shirt anymore ;-( jesamin: "Yay Odin!! When did he get so tall???!!!" ah yes, video - must remember to work on capturing video! is he taller? it's hard for us to tell because he see him everyday :-) maybe he's had a growth spurt or two recently...
