The largest remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall is the East Side Gallery, a 1.3km long segment running alongside the Spree in Friedrichshain. The graffiti is actually on the East Side of the Wall, and thus was added after it fell, as approaching the Wall from the East would have originally resulted in you being shot by DDR border guards.

Most of the graff and murals date from 1989/90, though some are recent.
