Very cool idea and I love the semi-double reflection that beveled edge gives. I would definitely crop a bit off the right to move the mirror from the center of the frame . . .
I would say play around a bit more with this assignment before submitting this since the self portrait thing seems to not-at-all be what the teacher's looking for. If you don't come up with anything else though, this would still make for a great submission.

@ambrosialove: Thank you for your comments. I think this not the kind of self portrait which Protagonist thought about. :-) I intentionally cropped it that way because otherwise my son is in the middle of the photo which I don't like.

Well, he didn't say 'no self portraits', so it is acceptable. I plan to attempt a mirror self portrait shot that I believe will be totally rockin' if I can manage to get it to turn out how I see it in my head. But I'm also going to play around with reflecting stuff other than my 'self' because I feel I'll get more out of this assignment the more attempts I make with it.

@Protagonist: I hoped that people didn't get it immediately but also that it is not too hard because otherwise it might just look as a boring selfportrait. I am now about 800km far away from the place were I took these shots, and can hardly make any modifications. So I will stick to this version.
