	stephenbuchan says: I don't know Imbala. The tropics seem to offer a suitable home to plants from different tropical regions. For example, it seems the West African Oil Palm is most commonly grown in the Neotropics, while the latter region's Cacao is now most widely grown in West Africa. Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
	Tony from Sydney says: They look like the African Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis), the same species you have pictured growing in a plantation. And yes, it is native to tropical West Africa. I am fairly sure the most extensive plantations are in Indonesia and Malaysia. The American Oil Palm (E. guineensis) is much less grown as a commercial crop. Posted 4 months ago. ( permalink )
