In downtown Seattle, adjacent to Westlake Mall, several scientologists attempt to locate the souls of long-dead criminal aliens who were murdered by their captor, Xenu, over 75 million years ago.

Note the pricy ($600-700, last I heard) e-meters, measuring the variable resistance between the subject's palms while the scientologist asks them leading questions and watches the needle.

This is the sort of entry-level audit that one often gets offered if you happen to walk in the vicinity of a Church of Scientology location; most likely the plebes must perform a certain number of audits before certification. When I passed by several hours later, only one of the 4 scientologists (2 cropped out) were there, the man in the white shirt. I see big things for him. Big bills from his church, mostly.

	ambermae says: I got sucked into a Church of Scientology in Boston once. Took one of their personality tests. It was long and tedious, but completely benign. Afterward they tried to get me to pay to get my results analyzed, but I managed to get out of there with only a copy of Dianetics, which I later left on a coffeeshop bookshelf. Posted 38 months ago. It could be that there are more people around in the summer, touristing and all, or it could be that, nationally, some OT schooling year just got out and they have to recruit and indoctrinate over the summer in order to start school in the fall-- who knows? 	schwa242 says: I was bored and took the test at a Scientology Center in Royal Oak. After reading plenty on the internet about Scientology, I was curious as to how the procedure worked. I did the test, and then some woman tried to get me to by books. Finally, my friend Evan who was getting bored hanging out outside, burst in and asked if I had been kidnapped by aliens yet. The woman said she had no idea what he was talking about and he explained that he saw a TV special about Scientology that involved kidnappings and aliens. She again stated she had no idea what he was talking about. A little embarassed by me friend's showiness, I thanked her for her time and attempts at salesmanship and we left. Posted 37 months ago.
