After I started making the jelly, I left the remains of the cooked plums (from the juice) still in the draining cloth. While cleaning up, I found that another cup or so of juice had accumulated, and when I dipped my finger into it, it was surprisingly less sour than I expected and a very nice flavor. I decided to add some sugar and dissolve in a pot on the stove, and when it cooled I added about an equal amount of vodka...and...ta da!...plum liqueur!
