Groovy shot!
(I realize that using the word groovy may
be dating me, but oh well!)
I posted a comment on your blog so I won't
repeat myself here, but for those who are
seeing this for the first time and who either
don't read blogs or are not Apple-minded, let
me just add...
"WHAT HE SAID!"

i'm with you i must say. they gave me a
macbook at work a few months ago and i was
pretty blown away by how far it has come. in
fact i'd say it's more powerful than my dell
in many ways. the OS is rock solid,
everything just works, and you can tell they
thought of everything. i'm still not sure
about the colors on it, but it probably beats
my dell. my friends who're on PCs get blown
away when i show them the built-in camera and
imovie...

Totally agree with you. I've had both a mac
and pc on my desk at work and at home for
many years (I work in publishing). Although
theoretically faster, the pc gets to see
little action these days.
If you like to play/fiddle/mess/tinker with
computers, get a pc. If you think of it as a
tool that simply has to work, get a mac.
It'll allow you to spend your time working on
your pics instead of working on your OS to
keep the damn thing running. In the 20 or so
years I've owned computers, I've had to
install and reinstall windows often several
times a year. I still have my original OS9 on
the mac with a few updates and OSX living
happily together. Never ever had to
reinstall, just update!

Ashamed about it!? Dude, when I saw your
"Walking with Thomas Hawk" video
and heard that you carried "an
inexpensive Dell" in your backpack, I
felt really sorry for you. I knew you weren't
running Linux on that thing with all of your
talking about Photoshop.
So. Welcome to the 21st century, Thomas
Hawk!
I hope you're learning to use Aperture. Especially having listened to you talk
about how much work it is for you to process
RAW images. Aperture makes that so easy.
You should also check out PictureSync. It makes uploading photos from Aperture to
Flickr (and a bunch of other services) a
snap. I use it to upload all of mine.
I think there may also be an Apple 30"
Cinema Display in your future... :)
(the MacBook Pro you bought will drive it)

Awesome photo. Nice blog read as well. I'm
hoping to get a new MBP for myself very soon.
I'm sure I'll share the same joy as you did.
:-)
Interesting comment on your blog. Someone
said for the PC world it's best to build them
yourself. I have to agree. The PC I'm using
now I built 3+ years ago with no problems
ever (other than running Windows ;-). But
alas, it's time for a switch. :-)
