YouTube features all sorts of fascinating videos and I wanted to dedicate this blog to two of them. The screenshot on the left, taken from the video
Battle at Kruger, describes an extraordinary wildlife scene shot by a tourist on a safari tour. It has had over 14 million viewers, after receiving mention in the mainstream media in the last couple of weeks. The one on the right, shot this week at the
Camp for Climate Action near Heathrow Airport (UK), shows a failed attempt of police officers to enter the Camp for Climate Action. So far it has only had 250 views.
The scenes are quite different yet there's a striking similarity. The 'hunters' seriously underestimated the cohesion and determination of their 'prey'. For the lions that resulted in a loss of meal and possibly one may have received a stab wound. For the police it wasn't much better either, note at the end of the video the sense of defeat is apparently so large that the copper talking in his microphone feels he has to exaggerate what happened in order to justify their retreat.
