Zur Jahrtausendwende bekam Hiltrup ein neues Wahrzeichen. Es ist die Eisenbahnbrücke über den Dortmund-Ems-Kanal. Aus der Nähe wirkt sie wesentlich imposanter, da die Verbindungsstege zwischen den Bögen einen deutlichen Akzent setzen. Die Brücke hat eine Stützweite von 144 Metern und war bei der Inbetriebnahme die weltweit größte in dieser Bauart. Dieses Motiv ist auch das Gruppen-Icon von Die 1000 Brücken von Münster

To the beginning of the new millennium Muenster-Hiltrup in Germany got a new landmark. This railroad bridge is 144 meters wide and was worldwide the largest one of this kind of construction. This image is the group icon of The 1000 bridges of Muenster
