Three Amigos || Brothers 3/3

Three Amigos || Brothers 3/3

And this is the final shot from my triptych (see #1 and #2). Thanks to Syncros for the title. I wonder if you can figure out the theme...

Three Houses || Brothers 2/3

Three Houses || Brothers 2/3

This is the second shot from a loosely themed triptych (the previous one is here) -- I will (hopefully) be posting the final one tomorrow. Can you guess the triptych theme?

I took this on a very cold trip to Sandy Hook last fall (at about the same time as this shot.) Also, this is my 100th public shot on Flickr. Since I've been posting since May 2007, I guess this means I don't post that frequently...

Tres Trees || Brothers 1/3

Tres Trees || Brothers 1/3

I shot this on the same winter day as this. It was warm and the skies were spectacular, so it was a great day to hike (well, wander) around Manassas / Bull Run Battlefield. Given the amount of time I spend there, you'd think that I'd know a lot about First and Second Bull Run -- but you'd be wrong.

This is the first shot from a loosely themed triptych -- I will (hopefully) be posting the next two over the next two days.

The Joy Of Photography

The Joy Of Photography

This is the first (posted) shot from my Death Valley / Zion trip in April. I love this shot -- a lone photographer, looking out over the dunes (with the Panamint Mountains in the background). For me, it evokes one of my favorite things about photography -- it lets me experience and appreciate raw nature in a way that I think many others don't.

I recommend looking at this one large and on black. It brings out the contrast between the dune and the mountains.

Dolly Sods Desolation

Dolly Sods Desolation

I have no idea if this shot is going to be interesting to other people or not. I have a hard time making shots in Dolly Sods, despite my love for the place. What do you think? Does the long-dead tree make an interesting focal point? Is the shot worth your time?
