366 Day 85: I guess life is full of places we can't go. As I pointed my lens at the demolition site, I caught an aside from a workman about paparazzi. Rather than snarl, which was my first reaction, I laughed and told him he had no idea what strange things I find interesting and attractive ...
I confirmed two things today about my photographic process:
Firstly, my suspicion is proving to be right, that the first image I make in any exploration is the one I ultimately choose.
Secondly, as with
my green botle on Day 83 , I am enjoying looking very closely at a finished image and noticing wonderful textures. But I was not aware of them in the moment of making the image, so I am choosing to give you what I saw with the camera.
Comments
The reaction of the workmen can be
interesting. When I took a demolition shot
(below), one of the workmen insisted I came
inside the barriers and took some unimpeded
photos. Not really much use as it was the
layers of barriers that I particularly liked
...

Funnily enough, I got comments today when I
was out taking pics - there's a big country
house I found on the map which I thought
might be interesting. It promised a huge
rectangular ornamental pond between an avenue
of trees, with the house at the end.
When I got there, it turned out to be a
posh hotel. I approached the railings to take
a pic of pond/trees/house just as some lady
in a power suit (looked like she was a big
cheese there) drove up the drive in a shiny
Mercedes and asked what I was doing...
Seems you get hassled left, right and
centre sometimes. No wonder I went for a pic
of trees and clouds today, they don't answer
back!
[Aside: light and weather was all wrong for
the house, so I didn't like the pics anyway!]

I like your observation about the first image
you make being the one you ultimately choose
to be right. I do the same thing most of the
time, I see something I like, take a shot,
then think about it and take more shots. I
believe the instinct always prevails over the
thinking.

I like what you've seen & the focus on
the railings works well with the tale of the
workman
