366 Day 86: I don't like this image. I've not been in a good mood today, and, seeing a 4x4 pickup thing in the car park, I felt even more curmudgeonly.
The associated rant going on in my head was about the flawed logic of "feeling safer" in vehicles like this, as a justification for driving them. Feeling safer has to be at the expense of someone else feeling more vulnerable, and if we all followed that argument, we'd be driving tanks or Hummers *',!!@"*
Anyway, I crouched down in front of the thing to get a head on view, as if it were about to run me over. I thought it looked angry, but that was my problem ...
I get 'grumpy old man' moments, but they're mostly about behaviour or things, rarely about people, you understand :-)

It certainly looks menacing and overbearing.
I can understand your grump. It looks a bit
dirty, as if it's just come out of Mad Max,
and we all know how grungy those cars were!

Hope you're feeling better after getting all
that off your chest! Not sure I would have
said this looks "angry", but
overbearing, yes. And yes, I agree with your
argument. I know of very few people who own
one of these things who actually *need* one.

What a fascinating picture - it really growls
at you. I wouldn't like to have that thing on
my tail.

Cheers everybody. I feel better knowing that
we seem to be of similar mind. Perhaps Top
Gear and Brainiac could start blowing these
up instead of caravans? Little chance ...
