366 Day 93: I chanced today upon some woodland conservationists clearing felled timber from coppicing, and burning the unusable stuff.

Taking a long lens through the smoke, flame and heat haze, I discovered some amazing impressionist patterns of the woodland. View Large. The workers were very generous of their time in answering my naive questions, and it was great to find a centuries-old nature management practice still in operation.
