I think that it is worth adding that Highland Cattle are fed on oats and rye. In the winter time as they cling to life in snowstorms they eat haggis that are grounded by the high winds and weather. Thankfully their diet changes around breeding time allowing the haggis to take flight and therfefore survive until the Burns Night Cull. When many are slaughtered for their rich plump flesh.
