Kilauea Lighthouse
Built in 1913 and nestled atop Kilauea Point, the Kilauea Lighthouse cut through the night skies for 57 years.
Alas, ships today are warned away by a much smaller and modern beacon situated directly behind the lighthouse, maintained by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Just offshore the peninsula is Moku'ae'ae Islet.

Kiikiiko, "Little Squeak"
Our little Shiba Inu, who we named Kiikiiko (KEY-key-ko) because it's Japanese for "little squeak," since she rarely barks, only little high-pitched squeaks.
Here she is pretending to be a cat, because she absolutely loves to sleep.
Incidentally, according to Wikipedia, Shibas are "surprisingly easy to housebreak and in many cases will housebreak themselves." Our Kiikii begs to differ.
P.S. Sorry for all the background noise, but this was indoors at ISO 400, which my little Canon A95 just doesn't cope with very well...

Sunset-O-Lakes
A special sunset falls across one of the many lakes of Chain-O-Lakes Resort in Cleveland, TX, just northeast of Houston. The water was smooth and calm...and infested with alligators.

Sky Palms
It seems like there's hundreds of different kinds of palm trees all across Hawaii, but these are certainly my favorite. Too bad I don't know what they're called... :)

My 10,000th View!
Sometime Early Morning February 7, 2007...
Okay, so it's actually 10,017, not 10,000...I spent all evening slowing watching it increase around the 9,990 range, and then all of a sudden, bam, it's 10,017. What happened!? :)
In all seriousness, it's been exactly 54 weeks since I posted by very first photo to Flickr, and to this day I'm still absolutely amazed that even one person was interested enough to stop by and take a look. In reality, photography is just a hobby of mine, and yet I'm truly humbled by all the wonderful comments and suggestions that you have so graciously left. I know that I've improved solely due to the beautiful art that I see others selflessly post, and it is that inspiration from your photos for which I am most truly grateful. It is you, and you alone, whom I have to thank.
And so without further ado, thank you Flickr, and most of all, thank you kind viewer! I wouldn't be here without you. :)
