This is the base that all the ones you've seen in my
Pincushion set everything is based off this. I finished this own with a button hole/blanket stitch at the top to secure it into one piece. I also use a plain whip stitch. all depends on the loo you want. Any stitch will work as long as it goes through both halves.
You can stop here or add some embroidery - which is what is next.
If you want to make African violets: The process is nearly the same to this point, except the only real difference since you make the center ball brown, and make the side taller than this.
Instead of stitching it around the top, you take the thread just above the cap side to side through the ball to attach it to the bottom, then fold the excess down. You can decorate the folded edge if you want.
Make two four leaf clovers of dark green and attach them to the ball at a 45 degree turn to each other.
Make the violets from either little thin strips of felt and thread and bascially making a
little pom pom or by making
smaller four leaf clovers, I find making them two layers of two different shades of the same color to work nice. I like three clumps of flowers on top as it then looks more like african violets and less like mere flowers.
