This was the third bird of three to run into the glass doors in the space of an hour. All survived.
Strobist: Handheld strobe on a (radio) rope to the left, Ambient was 1/50 @ f10. Once again, balancing depth of field on the bird against light in the background and the limits of handholdability with a 100mm lens, this time not standing under a bush brimming with 100 bees. But still.

Strobist: Handheld strobe on a (radio) rope to the left, Ambient was 1/50 @ f10. Once again, balancing depth of field on the bird against light in the background and the limits of handholdability with a 100mm lens while standing under a bush brimming with 100 bees. +2 macro filter on a 100mm lens for something like 1-2' distance lens to bird.
Shooting birds with a macro lens is just wrong.
