I remember staying with my uncle while my
parents vacationed in Alaska (before we moved
here). He would watch the Brewers on TV, but
listen to the radio. It was really wild. We
have no major league sports in AK, except
hockey which I play pretty good :)

You betcha! My memories are similar and
wonderful also: opening day for the
Cincinnati Reds at Crosley Field, skipping
school to go with my friend and his father,
sitting in the bleachers, smelling cigar
smoke and beer, watching Ed Bailey come to
bat, bang out a double (coulda been a triple
but he was a catcher, bit slow), seeing Wally
Post pinch hit for a single and drive him in,
watching Joe Nuxhall take the mound in relief
for the last two innings and tamp down the
Milwaukee Braves (not Brewers! not Atlanta
Braves!), going home and dreaming of playing
big league ball. Ah, baseball! Wonderful
photo, thanks for posting.

When I think of baseball, I think of
beautiful sunny days, the fresh smell of the
bright green grass, and the magical
atmosphere of being at or playing the game:)
