One strobe aimed at her face and another aimed at her legs from a slightly different angle. Sun is strong from camera right. Knowing the power of your strobes can make a shot like this pretty easy to setup.

Very nice shot.
By "Knowing the power" do you mean
the +/- settings on the strobes such as a +3
? Thank you.

Yes... in a way.
If I know the setting of my strobe (manual
here) at 1/4 power is going to be f-8 at 8
feet, it makes it very easy to set up a shot
like this. If I have f-8 reading the sun and
I want to match it, I simply put the flash at
8ft away on the axis to provide the light I
want. Knowing the power/distance/f-stop value
makes it quick.
I am only ever discussing manual flash. ETTL
and that sort of thing is not my area. I
rarely if ever use that type of setting. All
my flash work is done with manual flashes.

Thank you so much for your kind answer. I am
new beginning with strobes and know already I
wish to shoot all Manual and PW's not, with
ETTL IR. I am assuming that you know you are
f/8 from 8 ft. away only for doing it so
much. Again, thank you. Tom
