Tarpon Springs

My host took me on a little tour of their part of Florida, Tarpon Springs (near Tampa), and this was one of our stops. If you look closely you can see a little interruption in the water -- that's a manatee nose! Apparently this lake is open to the ocean, and the wild manatees swim in and hang out around this time of year. We saw lots of manatee noses while I was there, but it was a bit hard to photograph them -- so you'll have to look closely! ;}
