Coldilocks

I apologize for the title but Chicago is freakin' cold in the winter! Having grown up in St. Louis I thought I could take it. But my years in California have dulled my winter edge. I had hoped my inner constant whining against the cold would keep me warm, but it didn't work. It was much warmer back in October.

This is shot at 17mm. In my mind's eye I had imagined a wider field of view taking in myself as the center of the activity around the bean. Perchance I need to purchase a 10mm....

Whirlygig

I love the smaller planes. The ones in which you climb stairs right off the tarmac. I love to pause at the top and turn to princess wave to the airport - as if I were a visiting dignitary.

The most primal of these planes are propeller-powered. The ones I'm used to are made by Bombardier. I say primal because it's not just a jet engine somehow making the plane fly - it's a real-life propeller spinning like crazy to get me home. Absolutely fascinating.
