Eh, what if it seems to stop in the middle? Like at 500 out of 2200 approx? Do I press cancel and start all over? Or will it just suddenly resume? I'm still very much online now. 2nd time it's happening, eh clearing the photos from the 1st upload for the 2nd. Just wondering if that is necessary, and if they will simply overlap, instead of getting cloned. heh.

Addendum: They can't overlap. Haha, eh so I'm starting over again by force quitting my browser. :P

It will not let you upload the same photos again. I am not sure why you are having this problem, jade_c. Sometimes there can be a lag if there is a lot of traffic. Maybe that's what it is you are experiencing.
jade_c 15 years ago
I see. :P Thanks! I got that figured out too, after some experimentation. Too impatient for my own good ;)

I tried to send in my 2532 images this morning and the Organizer wan't having it.After a 10 minute WAT A MINUTE I got a NOT RESPONDING

Kim Siever 15 years ago
Weird. Maybe it's because we are getting so many submissions. My suggestion would be to try again later.

We really appreciate your perseverance, the_family_cat!
Hi, I got over 1,800 pix dragged to the box and selected this group, and they started loading. There was in a rectangle a little progress chart. It got to 1,590 and quit. I didn't say anything; it just quit. It wouldn't go forward or backward; so I closed the page, and then it took a long, long time deleting the 1,590 pix that it had loaded.

I went and shut my screen saver off, as I thought that may have caused the stoppage at 1,590 when it went on.

I tried again. This last time it only showed 2 pictures out of 1,831 loaded and again it stopped (the little progress rectangle stopped at 2 pictures. I thought, only 2, wow, I think I will just cancel out. Tried to cancel out, and it is taking over 25 minutes and still not done yet. Apparently it had a whole lot more in there than 2. Next time, should I just let the little charts just sit there, even if it seems nothing is happening? Thanks a bunch, Delina

Delina,

Based on what others have said, yes. Others have done 6 times that many successfully. It may be due to traffic on the list, it may simply pausing you to give someone else a chance. :)

Thank you very much for your contributions.

The main reason why Flickr stops responding sometimes even to use the back button is if you have the actual Flickr Multi Uploader running as a program on the Desktop.Cancel that and everything works.
But the Organiser has a mind of its own

By the way great User name its given me an idea to make some wacky computer comedy-a photo of Al Dexter given a Pixel effect!! I'm gonna do it right now and send it to COMMENTS

I should also mention that Flickr was experience network problems, and it may have been affecting some uploading before they shut everything down.

I didn't have a problem uploading 2049 images. Once you click on "select all" in organizer, you just have to move ONE of those images into the canvas box to move them all...but time of day as well as anyone else trying to load his entire stream at exactly the same time may enter into it as well. It took less than 3 minutes to load them all - but I have a fast version of DSL, and that may well have something to do with it.

It's cool to just browse random pages to see what's new, and what is at the beginning of everyone's stream. To AJFranklin, who invited me, and to those I invited who joined us -- thank you!
the family cat 15 years ago
I moved some of mine via their SETS and dragged one in which opened the images on there. But it didn't work more than 3 times

how come, with 600 members, we didn't pass the 1000000 yet?
i hope my 3184 are coming in ok. (working on it now) Thanks for the tip!
admin
Kim Siever 15 years ago
If everyone who joined contributed only 200 photos, we would need over 4,000 more people to join. Not everyone who contributed submitted 2,000 photos.

Thanks unprose for inviting others!
the family cat 15 years ago
Many have nowhere near that amount.
But its unlikely you'll reach a million when there are less than 10000 in right now.A million is a thousand thousand and its less than a tenth of the way so far unless something happenned in the last 5 minutes
But hope you do it!

It's all about viral marketing. There are certainly more than 1 million photos on Flickr.
the family cat 15 years ago
Not as much viral marketing but Astroturfing.
But according to Wikipedia theres are 3 million members here. Many of those will have their photos private or they could just be lurkers
th3g 15 years ago
I reckon it is definitely possible, there are many members who have over a thousand photos (myself and several of my contacts included) and that would just need a tousand members.
I have invited all my contacts, like Kim says it is all about the viral. Since I was sent an invite about 24 hours ago the total has doubled, I reckon by monday pm (GMT) we will be a quarter of the way there.
Come on people send those invites!
AJ Franklin 15 years ago
Do it 100-200 at a time to create more of a patchwork of viewing for the group members. eh?
So i added 175 photos now and i will add more when i have!

(GuiGui thanks for the invite)

Cheers Robbie
