Hi friends,

I would like to inform you about a prominent Marian shrine in India.

It is Our Lady of Snows Kallikulam. People believe that on 1939, Mary appeared to 6 young people here.

That is very interesting because there is a National Shrine to Our Lady of the Snow in Belleville, Illinois. When I was growing up in Missouri, we would visit it every couple of years.

That feast is celebrated on August 5 of each year to commemorate the dedication of the Church, St. Mary Major in Rome. Tradition has it that the Church was built in its location because of an August snow which arrived in answer to a Roman couple's prayer and promise to the Blessed Virgin.
