So this was orignally supposed to be a thread about getting info on what to do when a company approaches you to use your pictures, but it turned out to be completely off topic.

Fotomagazin, and freelance writer Anja are doing an article on Camera tossing, and have contacted select members of the camera tossing community to submit thoughts and photos to the article. So this thread is going to be about Fotomagazin related topics.

Thank you, Anja. Fine looking article. Looking forward to seeing some toss images from you!

Anyone in the US get their copy yet?

Any progress on the translation?
Jonathan Vo 14 years ago
I haven't received my copy yet (Texas).

I'll be happy to revise and proof the translation if anyone has even a part of it. : )

All Right! Received my copy of the magazine...and it looks really good all together in one place. Took some higher resolution photos of the pages in case anyone is interested in having a look. Pages 1 through 5 below. (Larger size files available for those who'd like them.)

Wow, thanks mtnrockdhh! I got to translate some myself, and it seems pretty good so far. I'm pretty amazed at the quality of the magazine itself. Did they ship it in a tube or some sort of protective box?

Has anyone else in the States received their own copy yet?

It came in a manila-type envelope, not very rugged and fairly tattered, but the magazine inside was in good shape, so I hope all of yours are as well.

As I mentioned to Jens, I really enjoyed the black-and-white photography of Frank De Mulder ;-}

Bad boy, you. The translation is nearly finished for my part, have some interruption because I am testing the new Lumix L1. Have to give it back tomorrow. Like Jens said, next week, we are finished. Some test reading might be useful, before we post it anywhere.

So what I want to know is why flickr is censoring images in Germany, when you folks get to put these "very nice" images in your mags??? Good ol' American idiocy?
faint rain [deleted] 14 years ago
I think it´s more typical over-regulated german idiocy.

Flickr's german issues are more of a legal sticking point and liability thing... has to do with the way german laws differ than other countries. If you want to talk about real censorship then China would be the most glaring example... and i've been published there too. Camera toss has been a relatively harmless topic, but I could have thrown in some TV Tosses of pornography to make things more interesting. heh.

I got my Fotomagazin this morning, threw it inside on the way out of the house... haven't opened it yet.

Great, Austin and Houston are relatively close, so hopefully my own copy will come in short time : )

Besides the printed copies... Anja was kind enough to send me PDF tare sheets... (which I just uploaded screen-caps of)... so if anyone wants an electronic copy of their contribution just shoot me a flickr mail with an email address to send it to.

Please respect the magazine's copyright and do not publish the PDFs themselves.

I received a PDF copy too. This is the closest thing I've gotten so far to the actual thing. Unfortunately, I haven't received my own physical copy yet... whats going on...

Also note that Fotomagazin has published a shorter on-line version of the toss article.

Thanks for posting that link mtnrockdhh, I hadn't gotten to it yet. Nice to see photo placement varied in the online version, even if it is the smeary mug of our friend ferro!
lucispictor_cs 14 years ago
I've read the magazine before I found this thread.
Great that this group gets some publicity!
Any reactions so far. (esp. as far as new members are concerned)?

@mtnrockdhh
is that a revenge because of your selfportrait? XD

Thanks for the translations guys! I really appreciate it :)

And I finally got my copies exceptionally late, but it was worth the extra wait. Really liked how it looked in person.
