Group Description

Images in the "Photography, Digital 100 Examples" pool should best have the Creative Commons Attribution License attached (this is the license that includes commercial use as well as non-commercial use). Attribution means: You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your copyrighted work - and derivative works based upon it - but only if they give you credit. Images submitted without the Attribution License may be rejected or removed at the conclusion of the collection so that others can easily exploit the intellectual property to further the teaching of others.

Each image should illustrate one or more techniques a photographer should follow to get a better image. Please describe the technique in the description and tag fields. Photos submitted without any commentary in the description field stating why it is a good or bad example, will not be accepted into the pool. Feel free to link to counter-examples, etc. Posting of "horrible examples" is encouraged if they clearly illustrate how not to take a photo and represent a common failing. See some examples of photography composition rules. EXIF data should be exposed to maximize the learning experience and value to group members.

The envisioned result is a corpus of no more than 100 images one could use for learning how to be a better photographer. Anyone will be free to use these images in a book or course material, etc., with attribution. If you are picky about it, be sure and Include how you want attribution to appear in the image description.

At the sole discretion of the pool Administrators and Moderators, images will be replaced if and when a better example(s) is posted. Unlike most Flickr pools that grow continuously in size, this pool will be capped at ~100 images, each worthy of study. Pool started in August 2008. Target completion date is August 2010.

Don't submit an image to this group if your feelings will be hurt if it is rejected or later removed.
