I'm a geek at heart. I'm one of the seemingly few people that managed to get a bachelor's degree in computer science and still enjoy programming, let alone going back for a master's. Though I think programming all day for school and work has given me a craving to work with somewhat more tangible things, so I like working with photography, graphics, and electronics.

I love the technical aspects of photography.. I know all about color and light theory, every tweaky little setting my camera has and all about Photoshop, I love macros and composites and high-speed photography and making flawless panoramas.. but my artistic side still needs work.

Using my photographs

I welcome you to make use of my photography. Almost everything on here is CC-Attribution licensed, and I don't begrudge people profiting from my work. I'm not a professional, and I draw more satisfaction from seeing my photography used on the web and in print than I would from the remote chance that somebody might pay me had I not given freely. If you wish to have a model release for one of my pictures, however, you will have to make it worth the while of whoever will be signing the contract. If you wish another license (for example, an exemption from the attribution requirement), I almost always agree when asked.

I have only two requests (not requirements):

1. Let me know what you're using my picture for. A comment on the picture is good. A link back to where you're using it is nice too.

2. If it's going into a print publication, I greatly appreciate being sent a copy. I have a collection of books and magazines my pictures appear in.
