I'm a Dutch historian and historical consultant specialised in daily life in Europe during the first half of the 20th century.

I've been providing research, information, props, extra's locations, replicas and much more for museums, authors, documentary makers, film & tv productions, etc, etc.

I am analyse old images, looking for the tiniest details to try and make sure the picture depicts what people say it does.

You may know me better as 'The Fake History Hunter'.

Thanks to my expertise the truth about photos that have been shared around for years with the wrong description is now finally known.

Besides history my other passions are espionage, crime and law enforcement.

I've studied historical crimes and have been of some use to the intelligence community by sharing my historical knowledge about images but also war crimes, torture and murders.

I live and breath the 1930s-40s.

Not only have I been researching it for decades, I have also adopted the past as my lifestyle.

I dress, behave and live like someone from the late 1930s.

No mobile phone, washing machine, tv or other modern conveniences.

I learn about the past by living it, reading old magazines, newspapers, listening to old radio broadcasts, watching old films, etc

That is often why my knowledge of that era is rather unique.

I know what I'm talking about not just because I've been studying it for decades but because I live it, in a way.
