Photography is my passion, and I know it's yours. When other tourists turn over in their beds or are having a scrumptious dinner, we find ourselves outside, trying to get the light just right on that one subject we have been trying to catch all week. "How many photos can you take of that?" people ask. "Until I capture it the way I want it," we know the answer is, "and then some more."

Scroll all the way down to see my camera bags content, talk about GAS!

I shoot 35mm, medium format and large format. I like to mix and match lenses using adaptors: my S-M-C Takumar 6X7 105mm f/2.4 lens goes on my Pentax 67II as well as on my Pentax 645NII as well as on my Pentax K cameras, for example.

I shoot mainly film because I like the process and it gives me better results! I'm old, I started off on film as it was the only choice but I adapted to a DSLR early and soon realised didn't like what I was getting as photos at all after that change and changed back to film in 2006. Photoshop, HDRI, I tried it all, always trying to fix a bad photo and making an effort in post-processing to rescue it. Changing back to film was best thing I ever did for my photography, I'm happy again now. I will be even happier to never ever see anything tagged as HDRI ever again in my life by anyone, you're just fooling yourself. Look at it, be true to yourself, HDRI colour mapping just sucks! :-)

Hoshisato's eye for B&W composition is excellent. I know that he uses 35mm for his B&W photos which gives a much more genuine feel to the photos compared with photoshop. Keep on shooting!
