I love this site! I'm not sure how much I'll have to contribute but I'd like to be a part of this. In the end I'm sure I'll be loading up with flower images but I'll start with a few shots of features created the Ice Age Floods. The source of the most studied of these floods was Glacial Lake Missoula.

The light colored rock shown in my "Buddy Icon" is a piece of granite that was rafted in an iceberg during one of the flood events. Today the rock sits more than 800 feet above the Columbia River near Wallula Gap. I live about 15 miles from Wallula Gap and each time I visit the piece of granite (known to geologists as an "erratic" as
