By day, I'm a professional geek and work as a Systems Engineer for a computer and software company. By night, I'm a husband, a father, a photography lover, and an a lover of animals. As you'll see from my photos, I've had many animals over the years including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, iguanas, goats, horses, donkeys, and llamas. Want to know more about my unusual life? You can always read my blog, The Minnesota Geek.

If it isn't obvious by now, I also consider myself an amateur photographer. I upgraded to a digital SLR in 2007 and have been having a blast getting reacquainted with the world of photography. I'm eager to learn from my experiences, so if you have constructive criticisms of my photos, please leave a comment so I can continue to improve.

If you hadn't noticed, I also like taking photos of transportation related stuff -- airplanes, ships, trains, etc. I don't really know why I love that stuff, but I've been fascinated with it since I was a kid. If you don't like those shots, take a look at the animal shots.

I also now have a ton of photos! I noticed in all of my photos that one thing was always missing. I have lots of photos of other people, but very few of me. That's one of the reasons I joined the 365 days group. For the 365 days, I tried to take a potrait of myself every day for 365 days. I made it through 90 days before I had to quit.

Lastly, I license most of my photos with a Creative Commons, Attribution-Share Alike license. I would ask that if you use my photos for anything that you please put, "Photo by Peter J. Markham, Loretto, MN" near the photo that you are using and if it is web based, that you link back to the original photo here on Flickr. I also love to know it if you decide to use my photos because I can then brag to my family and friends! ;-)
