Now retired and living in Dorset, England. Worked for Robert Maxwell for nearly 20 years. Spent 3 summer seasons in Eastern Europe mountain guiding after being made redundant. Then worked for BT which was my last job. Interests are photography, mountains, travel, wildlife, books (mountaineering, wildlife, polar regions, travel).

I have a great interest in birds, butterflies and insects but really enjoy all types of wildlife.

In recent years we (wife and me) have taken to making a book at the end of our adventure trips to show friends and family.

Richard has a gallery of photos on Flickr that I dare say is unique. It is clear that Richard is a lover of nature and with his photos he makes us all participate in his passion. In addition, it is also clear to me that Richard is a perfectionist who likes that absolutely all the photos he publishes have a perfect finish. I'm talking about an approach to see even the smallest detail, sharpness, color contrast, point of view, framing ... Richard leaves nothing to chance. Otherwise he would not publish the photo, which indicates a deep respect for his fellow members of Flickr or any other photography website. Thank you Richard for sharing your extraordinary work.

Richard's travel photos are outstanding and well worth looking at everyone of them. His nature shots rival his travel photos and are a true enjoyment for me to look at them. Well done my Flickr Friend. Keep shooting so I can keep looking.

Richard (and his lovely wife, Ann) are up there amongst the best when it comes to cataloguing the wonders of the Polar regions. His images of Polar bears are without comparison. Always ready to lend an encouraging word or two and help budding photographers to develop with his words of wisdom, and never short of friendly banter. Richard and Ann have become great friends of mine and I consider myself blessed for knowing them.
