The crystal elements of my eyes are the Looking Glass to observe the world. My mind is the Dark Room which carries the Negative film inside. Then the Photographs are the representation of the Image which is reflected through the Prism of Soul.

Photographs won't tell any truth, but only gives us the bits and elements waking up from our mind's eye.

....but then, the question is what's the "truth"? :)

I just want to say that his work isn't the only great thing but also the inspiration that it brings me and many other people here. His helpfulness and willingness to share his insight in photography are something that I'm very impressed with and thankful for as well. In short, a very nice guy with the ability to open your eyes with his works. His passion is undoubted. Thank you for sharing your vision :)

Tommy's images have really inspired me not only to shoot more but to open my eyes to see the beauty of everyday life. Photography begins with the photographer's eye which Tommy proves time and time again.

i've been a silent observer, admiring his works for quite sometime now. mesmerising, inspiring are understatements and i often find myself staring at his photos for a long time or coming back to his photostream on a regular basis to find inspiration. thank you tommy!

Tommy was one of the very first people I added on my Flickr list 44months ago. I've always been hooked to his work since I first saw one of his Noctilux images. He has a certain soul to his images which draws me in every time. I hope I can one day check out one of his exhibitions :)

Probably the only reason why I would make a trip to Japan are the photos of Tommy Oshima.

Tommy is a continual source of inspiration. His works always surprise me and encourage me to seek new ways to create pictures. All his pictures convey feelings that are difficult to express with words.Feelings that can only be expressed through the pictures of Tommy Oshima. Thanks for all Master

By far, Tommy is the one photographer I keep coming back to. His choices constantly push me to see more and (more importantly) see less . I love his final choice when he frames and snaps his camera. I appreciate his celebration of what film can still do to make beautiful pictures. Gracias, Tommy!

I've hesitated to write a testimonial for Tommy Oshima, just because it is difficult to put into words how much I appreciate his work. There is a melancholic string that connects much of what he does and that's something I can very much relate to. I love his ability to create images that engage the viewer almost immediately and at the same time make a lasting impression. I find his images often going through my mind long after viewing them on my computer. I really feel that Oshima's work stands strongly with the other great photographer's of our time. This is all the more impressive when you consider all of the excellent photographer's that are out there. Oshima's work manages to complement that of others while also standing apart. I can usually tell that a picture is by him before actually seeing mention of his name. I hope he'll get a chance to exhibit his work in the United States, preferably on the east coast, so I can get a chance to see his prints in person. I greatly appreciate that his work is on flickr. It's a privilege to be able to view it anytime I want.

Tasteful light and colors are his recipes to register some nostalgia. Ostinato playing with several kind of cameras, films, or lens turn his portraits and landscapes to life. In and out focus, his photographs have soul. Toshihiro Oshima is a great influence since I discovered Flickr.

Tommy Oshima is a master of photography, with depth and a wide witty universe, where Nietzsche can meet "par hasard" Godard, Lemmy Caution or Raymond Depardon. A very cosmopolite world indeed, where japanese, english, french, german, panasiatic, italian and other cultures are mixed. A very talented photo universe, where the better from argentic is used for great results, where deep contrasts, amazing bokehs, interesting textures and clever compositions are never uncommon. Well, i knew this already, thanks to his wonderful photostream. When i met him, i discovered also a very friendly guy. Bon vivant, Oshima-san... Attentive to other people's thoughts, gestures and talks, Tommy Oshima is humble and open-minded. A great little big man, the kind of person who can help me to forget the bad side of flickr (bad taste ruling, censorship, kittenmania). Oshima-sama no shasshin ha subarashii...
