Under a Full Moon
Explore - Highest Position #105
I had the idea for this shot floating around in my brain ever since getting home from my fall trip to the Eastern Sierras. I wanted to shoot this iconic (at least iconic to me and other local photographers) spot with a full moon behind me so that the foreground and distant hill and trees would be illuminated, yet it be dark enough to capture the stars above.
It was so bright outside I didn't really need a flashlight, though I did use one to light up the fence in the foreground in some shots, one of which I'll post another day.
I plan on trying this again, next time waiting until later in the evening so that more stars (and hopefully the Milky Way) will be visible.
