Scrub Tanager (Tangara vitriolina)

At El Ensueño, Quindío, Colombaia.

The Scrub Tanager (Tangara vitriolina) is a small tanager about 5.5 inches or 14 cm that is resident in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitat is moist tropical forests at altitudes between 500 and 2200 meters (1650 and 6700 feet) above sea level. It has adapted well to cultivated, deforested areas and is common in rural landscapes.
