Pitirre Copete Rojo [Social Flycatcher] (Myiozetetes similis)

Lugar: Finca La Pomarrosa, Barlovento, centro norte de Venezuela. Especie muy común que anida en la finca. La mejor manera de diferenciarlos del Atrapamoscas Pecho Amarillo (Myiozetetes cayanensis) es por el color del copete, amarillo en este último y rojo en el primero, como bien lo indica la foto. Lo difícil es que lo muestren.

 

Place: La Pomarrosa Farm, Barlovento, north central Venezuela. Very common species that nests at the farm. The best way to differentiate between them and the Rusty-margined Flycatchers (Myiozetetes cayanensis) is through the crown-patch color, yellow in the latter and red in the first-one, as the picture clearly indicates. What is difficult is capturing them showing their crown-patches.
