Regina Mundi

A Catholic church in the heart of Soweto, it served as one of the primary meeting places for citizens actively resisting the Apartheid government. As a result, it was regularly stormed by the police. You can still see the damage, with broken alters, statues, and bullet holes in the ceiling. Fittingly, many of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings took place in this church.
