Hooded Warbler with food (9421)
The extreme drought conditions in the state of New Mexico have forced to closure of almost all trails used for birding. The month of May is migration month, and this year's show was about average, with some migrants passing through, others returning for the summer to breed.
This Hooded Warbler was one of our most uncommon spring visitors, establishing himself iat the base of one of our canyons, singing away regularly from mid-May through the end of the month. As of June 1, he's still advertising himself.
