Rotterdam, Markthal (2)

This picture shows the real proportions of the brandnew Rotterdam “Markthal” (Market Hall), seen from Westnieuwland/Blaak. In the giant glass façade reflections of the remarkable apartment building Blaaktoren (“The Pencil”) by Piet Blom and the Rotterdam library by Jaap Bakema (inspired on the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France).

At your right a small part of the week market at Binnenrotte and, behind that, de Hoogstraat (High Street) and the church tower of the Laurenskerk (Lawrence Church).
