Yosemite and More June 2013
We took our granddaughter, Michelle, on a Road Scholar Intergenerational trip in June 2013. The title of the trip was Dinosaurs, Gold Panning, Robots and Yosemite. We stayed at the Evergreen Conference Center Oakhurst (ECCO) in Oakhurst, California, on Highway 41 south of Yosemite National Park. We did a number of fun and interesting things during the week including two different days in Yosemite, a ride on the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, a gold panning experience, learning about (and the grandchildren made) underwater robots, a tour of the fascinating Forestiere Underground Gardens in Fresno, California, and a visit to the Fossil Discovery Center of Madera County in Chowchilla, California. In addition, we had some wonderful evening programs. The only downside of the week was a large forest fire burning near the western edge of Yosemite National Park. This created some smokey conditions, particularly the day we stopped and Tunnel View and visited the Yosemite Valley. The photos are basically shown in a chronological order.
