Great Smoky Mountains Through the Photographer's Lens, Oct. 27-Nov. 1, 2019
Andy and I took this Road Scholar photography trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, October 27-November 1, 2019. We stayed at the Lambuth Inn, Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. Two-thirds of Lake Junaluska is owned by the United Methodist Church and serves as an assembly location and is home to the United Methodist World Museum. My mother attended a Methodist Youth Leaders' conference back in the early 1930's when she was in high school. She traveled to Lake Junaluska from the Los Angeles, CA, area. During our 1964 family auto trip around the United States, we stopped in Lake Junaluska because my mother had such fond memories of it. 1964 was my first and only trip until now to the area. It was a lovely area and provided easy access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
