House Sparrow

One of our thriving garden population. This is a recently moulted male. The black chin and bib are there but the feathers have long buff fringes which obscure it. Over the winter and into spring these fringes wear off leaving the black underneath, the bill becaomes black and he turns into the familiar Cock Sparrow
