Kahikatea In Lake Brunner

Around the southern shores of Lake Brunner, on the West Coast of the South Island, are extensive wetlands of submerged podocarps, divaricating shrubs, flaxes, and giant tussocks. The predominant trees in this ancient looking environment are the endemic Kahikatea (Dacrycarpus dacrydiodes), New Zealand's tallest growing native tree.
