Green Broadbill (Calyptomena viridis)

We were told about the Green Broadbill nesting on Day 2 - Saturday late afternoon.. our last day birding with Khun Yotin - but we had another day Sunday which was initially planned for a trip to Krabi in the morning to shoot along the mangroves.. Khun Yotin was booked for the Sunday but we mananged to arrange for his assistant to setup an old spare hide for us early the next morning for us to shoot.. So we stayed there from about 6am till 12 noon - but the Green Broadbiill came to feed only 2 times - about an hour or so apart at around 9am and 10am.. and so just to get these few nesting shots, we had to do a HOUR+ long "route march" with full gear at 12noon-1pm under the blazing hot sun back to Morakot Resort as we had no transport for the day.. Whew - that nearly killed me ! Really brought back (fond???) memories of my long forgotten army days ! But to see the Greenie up close nesting is a sight to behold indeed - well worth the wait and sweat lah.. :)
