Collared Sunbird (male)

Collared Sunbird Hedydipna collaris, Sabiepark Private Nature Reserve. The orange on its forehead is pollen from the aloes it has been feeding on.

 

Acccording to Roberts Bird Guide these small birds are monogamous and often place their nest near a wasp's nest for protection against monkeys. They are parasited by Klaas's Cuckoo.
