Woodland Kingfisher

Woodland Kingfisher Halcyon senegalensis, Kruger National Park

 

This intra-African migrant can also be heard and sometimes seen in our garden in Pretoria. Its call is a beautiful, loud and trilling kri-trrrrrrrrrr - a favourite of mine.
