Green-and-Rufous Kingfisher (female)

Although this species is twice as long as the Pygmy Kingfisher, the Green-and-Rufous is equally shy and very hard to get close too, flushing off hidden perches bfore you spot them. You can tell it is a female by the bizarre black and white patterning on its chest almost like a bar code. Sani Lodge, Napo River, Ecuador
