Olive Thrush, Turdus olivaceus pondoensis,

This species, Kurrichane and Karoo Thrush can be confused at a distance. This species has a dark eye ring, usually more orange on the lower breast and has a dark area on the culmen and around the nostril, in Karoo and Kurrichane it is just orange. This bird could be confused with Karoo but the dark eye ring and brown areas on the bill indicate Olive Thrush. This race can be found from Natal and Swaziland to Transkei and e Cape Province. Another race occurs in Zimbabwe and the border with Mozambique. This bird was seen at the superb Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge, Magoebaskloef, Limpopo Province.
