Jackal Buzzard, Buteo rufofuscus,

This is a South African endemic and a bird of open savanna and hills. Most have a chestnut breast, dark head and white bases to the flight feathers while the tail is uniform in colour. The immature are more of a uniform brown. This bird was photographed due S of Blyde River canyon near the Forever Resort.
